Her wicked revenge, or his wicked heart...

Hazel McCallister loves her life. Perfect grades. Perfect best friend. Perfect boyfriend. Until her perfect boyfriend cheats on her with her perfect best friend. Now Hazel’s in free fall—until her best friend’s brother, Felix, gives her the perfect idea. Reclaim her power by taking revenge on her cheating ex.

Felix James loves his life. Casual relationships. Loads of surfing. He’s as drama-free as they come. But he can’t stand by when his sister steals her best friend’s boyfriend, and the dude insists it was Hazel’s fault. So Felix vows to help turn Hazel into a girl her ex can’t resist—so then she can break his heart.

With an alliance in place, Hazel’s revenge is all but assured. But with each piece of payback, she feels a stronger attraction to Felix, even though revenge will turn her into a girl Felix could never be with. And soon Hazel has to make an impossible choice revenge...or Felix, the boy who’s stolen her heart.

WARNING! This book contains betrayal, revenge, and that most tempting vice of all, the bad boy you know you can't have.

Not Okay Cupid eBook Heidi R Kling

1. Not Okay, Cupid by Heidi R. Kling is a Ya Romance that mixes together a couple of themes that I love. I love stories of revenge, where the main character is trying to get back at their ex. I also love stories where the main character falls in love with their best friend's brother. This story mixes together both of those!

2. The main gist is that Hazel is dating this guy named Jay, who's kind of lame. She doesn't think he's lame though. She loves him. But then she finds out that he's secretly dating her best friend Kimmy. Uh oh. Hazel is heartbroken until Felix (Kimmy's brother) suggests the perfect plan. He suggests that the two of them fake date to make Jay jealous. Will the plan work? Or will it crash and burn?

3. I liked Hazel and Felix for the most part. I felt like their feelings for each other were a little rushed though. It would have made more sense to me if one of them had secretly liked the other one for a long time but instead it was just like, the two decided to like each other and so they did. Not as romantic as it could have been.

4. I liked Felix a lot. He seemed like a bad boy, except he wasn't actually bad. He was sweet to his mother. He was sweet to Hazel. He liked to make weird french fry dip combinations. He's a surfer. What's not to love?

5. Part of the story takes place around Valentine's Day so it could even be a holiday read. I'm one of those people who likes to read holiday books around the holidays. haha Just gets me in the spirit, I guess!

If you like cute YA romances, I would recommend this story for you.

Take care,
Marian

Not Okay Cupid eBook Heidi R Kling Reviews

My initial thought when starting Not Okay Cupid This little Valentine's contemporary is exactly what I need to cleanse my palette and spend some time with characters you just grow to adore. First page in and I was already making notes like, "TOO ADORABLE ALREADY." Clearly, I was hooked.

Hazel/Bazel (such a cute little nickname) and Felix James (every guy should go by his first and middle name, I'm convinced) are two high school kids who set out to take revenge on TOTAL CREEP JAY (and not-so-good BFF Kimmy) after they decide being together is more important than their relationship/friendship with Hazel. Lucky for her, Felix helps her concoct a simple plan to get the back. Of course, it doesn't end there and there's a few weeks of getting to know Hazel and Felix and see where they're headed. You'll have to read it yourself to find out ).

Few other thoughts

1. I'm glad I'm not the only one who coordinates their underwear with holidays

2. Jay is surely short for Jacka$$. Comparing him to Trump - Zing!

3. Team Jacob (and team classic sads!)

4. I too miss the good old days of slamming the phone without worrying about breaking it. Maybe I need one of those USB phone attachments.

5. How adorbs were the last few pages??? Totally adorbs.

If you're looking for a short little Valentine's read, look no further! Also, Heidi is great about interacting with fans so reach out to her across social media...Chat her up about you favorite classic sad or how gorgeous Felix James' abs must be ;).
This book is seriously making me smile SO much that my gums are literally hurting! Narrated in both the main character's opinion, it really let's you know what is REALLY happening inside their heads. I simply adore this book, but I just felt that the plot has been used very many times. The whole 'fake boyfriend turns into a really one', you know what I mean? Don't get me wrong, this was a great book, but it's just not very original.

It starts off with the main protagonist, Hazel, who catches her boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend. Yikes. Of course, if you were put in that position, you would totally feel that way, won't you? So she runs off crying, and then her best friends BROTHER (also the main character) decides to help her simply because he can't stand his sister's actions. Felix (the brother's name) decides to be her fake boyfriend, so that the cheating boyfriend will get jealous. This plan does work, but the two fakers start to fall for each other, then things start to go unplanned.

Did I forget to mention that Felix is a total player (and super hot) and that Hazel is a star student? They really are the most unlikeliest of couples, but I think that they bring the best out of each other.

I bought this during the holidays, and I literally finished it in less than 24 hours. TOTAL PAGE TURNER. That, my friend, is how you determine whether it's a good book or not. Every sentence of this book just kept me wondering "What's going to happen next?" I LOVED this book, squeaky clean, and recommended to ALL teenage girls to read.

Content Clean, with a couple of kisses. Just lips, no tongue.
